Welcome
Transform / manifest
When Pluto enters our lives we are given an opportunity to transform on the deepest levels we can.
Pluto transits reveal our best — and worst — selves. And sometimes you need to glimpse your darkness in order to change. Pluto also teaches us about our own power and vitality so that, like the god Hades of the underworld, we can live in prosperity and abundance (Hades after all, lived underground where the seeds were buried for the coming harvest).
Most of the teachings about Pluto focus on the negative aspects, the death, destruction and abandonment. To do this alone misses the reason we are working with Pluto, so that we can be reborn stronger, wealthier and more potent. So let’s take a moment now to shed our traditional understanding of Pluto as merely an intergalactic motherf*&er who makes us hurt.
Let’s reclaim Pluto in its more positive aspect as a rich, nourishing, transformed, endlessly transforming, regenerative, sexy, deep, cultivated and abundant energy.
So be it.

An unconscious Pluto transit can feel scary
But I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be. Everything you may be feeling, from panic to depression to sadness to despair, is a message from your psyche that something needs to be cleared away.
We are made of memories. Our memories create our neural pathways and our samskaras. These inform us, moment by moment, as to how we feel when faced or triggered by various situations or themes.
Pluto comes along to highlight the most pressing samskaras we have about certain themes, in order to free us.
Either we choose to be free, or we choose to be owned.
A conscious Pluto transit will deliver you riches and joys you never imagined possible.
But if you don’t own your own Pluto, then Pluto will own you.
It doesn’t mean you’re being punished, it means you’ve not learned the lesson you need to learn, or made the changes you need to make.
Shadow
The best thing you can do in a Pluto transit is to own your own shadow. (Why aren’t we taught this at school?)
The worst thing? To hide from shadow. To turn away from your own darkness.
A Pluto transit is the absolute time to look into the dark. If you don’t, you won’t find the light. And trust me, looking into your own darkness will yield your own thousand-watt glow. This, I have lived to be true.

So let’s just come to an agreement that we all have shadow sides and shadow selves.
As Connie Zweig writes in Meeting the Shadow, “The shadow goes by many familiar names: the disowned self, the lower self, the dark twin or brother in bible and myth, the double, repressed self, alter ego, id. When we come face-to-face with our darker side, we use metaphors to describe these shadow encounters: meeting our demons, wrestling with the devil, descent to the underworld, dark night of the soul, midlife crisis.”

So how is shadow formed?
Our shadow is formed when we grow up, all the way to adolescence. I find that the astral body really starts to land at age 6-8, and there is a corresponding tighening of the astral complex around this time. The shadow is then fully activated, and around age 13-15 it is absolutely in full force. Since the astral body is the body of emotional pain from birth and before, our shadow side will arrange itself around these pain spots (samskaras) as well as in reaction to when we as children are shamed.
Shame is a defining marker of a shadow aspect, since we hide all that we don’t feel comfortable to own. Being shamed yourself individually, seeing a loved one shamed, or seeing society shaming its citizens are the ways in which we form shadow aspects: ie personally, mutually and socially.
If you grew up in a repressed family or a strict/religious society, your social shadow will be denser, more hidden, since the pressure to conform (and thus bury isntincts and drives) will be greater. In this scenario, you will be getting a lot of shadow from social and collective memes. But then you will have a Pluto transit, and Pluto comes along to blast all these attitudes apart.
It’s not all bad. If you start to own your shadow, you are thereby owning your Pluto.
My friends and clients going through Pluto transits have felt the rage of a murderer and the fury of a dragon. Beneath that rage has been hiding heavenly compassion. Beneath the fury has been creativity. Beneath my own ‘boring’ shadow lay the sweetest and most vibrant sense of beauty.
If you’re afraid of your shadow side, know that beneath the darkest shadows, lie the most glittering lights. I promise.… this is absolutely true.
The link to abundance
When you own these shadow aspects it becomes much easier to call in prosperity and abundance. Why? Nature abhors a vacuum. Sub-conscious programming usually writes the scripts of our lives, which is why we so often fail and flounder. But watch as you fill the empty, negative shadow spaces with the light of your consciousness, with God, with source, intention and with love. Watch as you begin to magically manifest all that your conscious heart desires.

How do we put this all together?
This course will help you to bring the forgotten parts of yourself and the future potential into alignment. This is a roadmap to a Pluto transit and to who you ultimately want to be.
If you interact with the real energetics of your shadow side during a Pluto transit then you will absolutely find the gold behind your shadow, and that gold will change your life.
Why? Because Pluto is a 1000 watt force revving up your issues so that they can alchemised into something better.
If you hide from your shadow during a Pluto transit, the universe will continue to send you greater and greater tests so that you start to see what it is you’re hiding from. After all, the concept of shadow is the concept of Pluto:
The external being played out to highlight the dis-owned internal.
Jung describes it here: “The psychological rule says that when an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside as fate. That is to say, when the individual remains undivided and does not become conscious of his inner opposite, the world must perforce act out the conflict and be torn into opposing halves.”
This absolutely describes what Pluto is doing in a Pluto transit. Pluto is “perforce act(ing) out the (unexpressed) conflict”. Sometimes Pluto can play out past life samskaras and shames, in which case deep healing is needed. Sometimes Pluto triggers this-life shadow, in which case therapy, shadow work and coaching helps.
Wait, I’m meant to enjoy this?
I myself went through an intense Pluto transit, and if you had told me at the beginning of this two year period that I would grow to enjoy the process I would have laughed — in rage and despair. After all, I had been attacked by a cat and gone to hospital for two days, I had been served papers for a legal issue, I’d thus gone into thousands of dollars debt, I was attacked on the street by a homeless man, the sum of which finally led me to uncovering blocked memories of trauma from childhood.
This was heavy stuff, but the universe was sending me so many red flags that I couldn’t help but see patterns. The deeper I unblocked, the more I called in. It got to the point that I’d own my shadow (say, around abuse to a close friend in an email), and then literally moments later I would be gifted surprises from the unvierse (in this case, ten minutes after sending that email, I ended up walking down a path paved in the most abundant green branches and roses to find the man (a gardener) I had a passionate relationship with; he had just cut the hedges from my garden). There was a lot of symbolism around dark and light too — losing electricity, trees being cut down in the back garden and getting so much more light, rescuing a tree from nearly being cut down, black outs, power outages, flare ups.
By the middle of my Pluto opposed sun transit I was learning to dance with the energies, and miracles — and manifesting. The universe was trying to get me to a place of authenticity and wholeness. By the end I was vibing in my own power, potency and delight. I was having more creative fulfillment from my work, I was absolutely loving my relationships, I was abundant and I was meeting powerful and sexy people from all corners of the world.
Pluto broke me -- and then gave me my deepest truths, loves, pleasures, delights and manifestations.
And so it will be for you too.
Stay golden,
Emma
Listen
Before we go in any deeper, take a moment to breathe deeply using ujayi, or throat friction breathing.
Take ten slow breaths. If you haven’t already, take a bath or some CBD and stretch, this will help your energy to be more supple so that this recording works better.
Lie down in a quiet place and listen to this recording.
Journal
Take a moment to journal or draw what you just felt and saw.
Take your time and be easy and gentle with yourself. The shadow side is always difficult to witness. No matter how grotesque or damaged or dark your shadow side, know that this is not all of you, by any means. Know that having a shadow is a universal law of being human.
Letter
Write a letter to your shadow self and let your pen run off the page for a good few minutes.
Rest
Take a walk or an epsom salt bath if you feel challenged.
