QUINTESSENCE

Let’s refresh. I want you to look at your answers from the last chapter and find connections and the most common feelings that arise. You can’t be wrong so just be flexible and tune into what feelings feel good and get you excited or juicy. Find patterns in your past and your likes and dislikes. If a feeling jumps out at you then that is a quintessential feeling too. (Sometimes we haven’t embodied our quintessential feelings, or there is another time in our life when one becomes more dominant.)

What are your most quintessential feelings?

They make you feel sparkly, deep, full, yummy, satisfied, excited on a soul-shaking level.

These are the feelings that you are seeing the most when you look at your answers from the last chapter.

Make a list of 7-8 quintessential feelings that feel so great that you feel a visible tickle in your belly area, and then narrow it down to 2-3.

Take each feeling and answer these questions:

(You can start with three now and come back to the others later. It’s best to answer all the questions for each feeling and then move onto the next)

Describe this feeling using color, sound, taste, shape.

What age did you most feel this feeling?

What activity most promotes this feeling?

What does this feeling want you to do?

What does it want to eat? Listen to? Make? Absorb?

What are daily things you can do to embody this feeling more?

What are things you’ve never done that can channel this feeling more?

Who does this feeling want to hang out with?

What does this feeling want to say to the closest three people in your life?

What does this feeling regret from your past?

What has this feeling learnt from your past?

What age did you fully step into owning this feeling? Or have you yet to do that?

NOW GET QUIET AND CLOSE YOUR EYES

(We will be doing this in an ISP below too, so don’t worry if you feel lost.)

Now I want you to take a deep breath and feel into each feeling. Twenty breaths or so for each. As you close your eyes and meditate on each quintessential feeling, you want to see what energy surrounds or stands behind the feeling. What connects this feeling to source?

This could be feelings of levity, peace, love, god, compassion Source, Universe, angels and anything else that feels good.

This is your quintessence.

A refined expression of your inimitable soul.

Your quintessence is a gift. A way to organize and enliven your life.

To give both the mundane and elevated moments meaning and depth.

Even when you’re facing adversity (eg right now if you’re doing this course), having access to your quintessence gives you another way to meet life. You claim your right to peace, joy, vibrancy, delight or whatever your quintessence is composed of — even when the going gets tough.

Finding your quintessence is like serenading your soul

Think back to those times in life when you were at your lowest. Look at what you did to climb out of that low-vibe space. I bet it was something related to your quintessence that lifted you up and steered your timeline back into light.

Not feeling it?

Alternatively, if you’re experiencing The Depths, feel what comes up when you try and connect to a quintessential feeling and can’t. This blockage of emotion that arises is a roadmap back to your truth. Like a hero in a fable, you just need to get through the fog of emotion and clear the blockages so that you can claim your rightful prize — your quintessence.

Answer these in your journal — and look at them when you do the ISP again:

Make a list of your quintesssential feelings again.

What do you want to feel throughout the following days and weeks of challenge?

What could make it hard for you to feel this way?

Do you feel worthy of living from your quintessence?

Is there any reaction or pain around this desire?

What does that feel like?

Sit a moment into this pain or low self worth feeling, and map it out. (What age is coming up, etc)

Our quintessential feelings are a roadmap to the expression of our soul.

And thereby should be a roadmap to our lives.

I want you to do the ISP again, thinking of your quintessential feelings before you start.

Looking for the higher octave of your quintessential feelings is a way to source your quintessence.

What forces of spirit or light are behind these feelings that elevate your soul?

There is the feeling itself. And there is the energy behind it, the soul forces that shape it.

I feel the light of presence, or of compassion, or freedom behind mine, but I feel these as energetic forces that aren’t so easy to articulate. Sometimes they are the feelings of the shape of energy connecting me from source to the ground we live on. Be open to what you see.

Tuning into the higher octave of your quintessential feelings takes you to your quintessence, also known as the fifth element.

The invisible force. The energetics.

The inimitable spirit of your heart.

IS The universe challenging you?

When you gear into your quintessential qualities sometimes the Universe likes to play ball with you. I realized after finessing my quintessential code that a big part of my code was my desire for peace. I don’t list this in my code, as it seems such a foundational element.

One frazzled day I made this realization and I decided then and there that I would only do, say and embody peace. The universe immediately sent me a challenge. In that one day I had calls from various frazzled family members, I had my neighbor from next door almost barge her way into my house to complain, and I had an ex try to draw me into a dispute. This highlighted to me that I had some further unblocking to do around peace. I grew up in a pretty hectic family with some domineering and pushy individuals, myself included! I went back to ISP the feeling of not being worthy of peace and saw how I had early childhood wounding around this.

Take it easy the following days and keep doing the ISPS as much as you can. The more you do, the stronger the new neural pathways are. If there are issues coming up about a certain age, know that there is healing to be had.

Take the age that you are dealing with and place that version of yourself tenderly in the garden — tune into her/she/they. After the ISP take notes — on any sensations or feelings. Let your pen go free. Try and write from your heart and not your mind. Sometimes breakthroughs happen in increments, so it’s useful to have a record.
