The Heartmail #1
The London EDITION
I have been spending some time in London, a regular haunt of mine — and we are loving the soft English light, the endless pots of tea and subtle English way of doing things. Especially over this Pisces New Moon, it’s been amazing to take stock on what we need to heal, what wounds are calling us back into old habits and ways of being — pondering how to move forward past any lingering heartbreak or grief into the following month (new moons are a great time to envision the lives we want to call in — and taking the next month to make that vision a reality).
The Artist’s Residence, Pimlico
Three years ago I was rock bottom, thousands of dollars in debt, in a legal dispute, visiting Manhattan Supreme Court once a month and struggling to see how I could possibly survive (since I had my legal papers to work taken away from me). The Depths, as I like to call this period of dark-before-the-dawn and surrender, were brutal. Those moments I leaned into my self-care regime to heal and awaken. Which meant — baths, baths and more baths. Body oils, chanting, walks in the park, going back to my Inner Space Re-Patternings to build new neural pathways around loss and heartbreak — and lots of prayer.
Thankfully that was one dark before the dawn, and life goes on and here we are in London enjoying the late winter light.
Right now I am loving these goodies —
i) Whenever we need to stock up on body oils we head to this charming little business on Broadway Market in East London. They make amazing face oils and the best bath salts we’ve ever tried.
Wilder Organics herbal tea
ii) We love staying at places like The Artists Residence in Pimlico.
iii) Tea at Violet Cakes in London Fields is always a treat.
iv) London bookshops are our favorite. We especially like Daunt Books on Marylebone. After this we go to Daylesford Organics to stock up on groceries and this market garden kimchi.
v) We love the brand Toast for coats and knits. Especially this perfect shirt.
Haeckels base their skincare on elements from the sea
vi) Going to the V&A is always a treat. I got a membership and so I get to sit in the member’s room and drink tea and then wander down the South stairs straight into the Medieval Rooms. Royal.
vii) Liberty is such a remarkable little world. I like Paloma Wool’s well-priced knits. They are a little bit quirky and this beret is snug.
viii) I absolutely have fallen hook, line and sinker for Haeckels skincare range. Based on seaweeds and elements from the English coastline, their oils, bath salts, soaps and skincare are to die for.
THE HEARTBREAK PROTOCOL
The Process — HEARTFUL is a nine-day course that teaches you how to completely grieve the loss of your ex-partner/job/friend/family member — as well as limiting behaviors — once and for all. Heal your heart. Grieve the relationship you had — so that you can call in the life you deserve.
